One of the most common questions we receive on our bear hunting videos is "do you guys eat the meat?". The answer is YES, in fact, many people prefer bear over other wild game like deer and elk. Now, we are not saying it's better, that's for your taste buds to decide. There's a lot of ways to prepare it like anything else. We will use most of the meat from this hunt for breakfast sausage, jerky and summer sausages which are great snacks on the mountain. In this video we slow cook an entire hind quarter and both backstraps on the Camp Chef Smoker Pro and it turned out delicious. To be safe you've got to cook it to 180-185 degrees to avoid Trichinosis. That's a bit more well done than we prefer but, better safe than sorry. Watch the video below for more details.
